Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms are intended to set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Bodalive Co., Ltd. (the "Company") and users, as well as other necessary matters, in connection with the use of the web novel platform "BodaNovel" (the "Service") operated by the Company.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Service" means the web novel reading, member management, and related supplementary services provided by the Company.
- "User" means a member or non-member who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
- "Member" means a person who has registered for membership of the Service and is able to use the Service on an ongoing basis.
- "Content" means web novels, images, text, and all other creative works posted on the Service.
- "Advertisement" means commercial advertising in general, including banners, videos, and native ads displayed within and around the Service screens and Content.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)
- These Terms take effect when posted on the Service screen or otherwise notified to users.
- The Company may amend these Terms within the scope that does not violate applicable laws. In the event of an amendment, the Company will specify the effective date and the reason for the amendment and announce it at least 7 days in advance (30 days in advance for changes unfavorable to users).
- If a user continues to use the Service after the announcement without expressing an intention to refuse the amended Terms, the user is deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
- A user who does not agree to the amended Terms may stop using the Service and withdraw their membership.
Article 4 (Provision of the Service)
- The Company provides the following services:
- Web novel content reading service;
- Personalized services such as bookmarks (library), reading history, and view settings;
- Service operation functions such as announcements and customer support;
- Other supplementary services determined by the Company.
- The Service is, in principle, provided free of charge, and the Company may display advertisements within the Service to support its operation.
- The Company may introduce a paid system for some functions or Content of the Service. In such a case, the scope of conversion to paid use and the conditions of use will be announced separately or through individual screens. If Content previously used free of charge is converted to paid, users will be notified in advance.
- The Service is, in principle, provided 24 hours a day; however, the Company may temporarily suspend the provision of the Service as needed for operational reasons such as system maintenance, equipment replacement, and failure recovery.
Article 5 (Membership Registration)
- A user applies for membership by entering member information according to the registration form set by the Company and then agreeing to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
- Membership registration is available only to users aged 14 or older. Children under the age of 14 may not register without the consent of a legal representative.
- Users may register through email sign-up or through an affiliated external account such as a Google account.
- The Company may refuse membership registration, or subsequently restrict or revoke membership, in any of the following cases:
- Where the user has stolen another person's information or entered false information;
- Where a person under the age of 14 has registered without the consent of a legal representative;
- Where the user has previously lost membership due to a violation of these Terms or for similar reasons;
- Where the user does not meet the membership registration criteria set by the Company.
Article 6 (Management of Member Accounts)
- A member may not transfer or lend their account information (email, password, etc.) to a third party.
- If a member becomes aware that their account information has been stolen or is being used by a third party, the member must immediately notify the Company and follow the Company's instructions.
- The Company is not responsible for any damage arising from the leakage of account information due to reasons attributable to the member.
Article 7 (Withdrawal and Loss of Membership)
- A member may request withdrawal at any time through the withdrawal function on My Page within the Service, and the Company will process it immediately in accordance with applicable laws.
- Upon withdrawal, all personal data of the member, such as the library, reading history, and posted comments, is immediately deleted and cannot be recovered thereafter.
- If a member violates the obligations of these Terms or significantly interferes with the normal operation of the Service, the Company may suspend or revoke the member's membership after prior notice.
Article 8 (User Obligations)
Users must not engage in the following acts:
- Reproducing, distributing, transmitting, posting, creating derivative works from, or commercially using the Content within the Service without the Company's prior written permission;
- Accessing Content using automated means (bots, crawlers, scrapers, etc.) or placing an excessive load on the servers;
- Using the Service in a manner that fraudulently displays or clicks advertisements, or that blocks or alters the display of advertisements;
- Exploiting defects or security vulnerabilities of the Service to cause damage to the Company or a third party;
- Collecting, storing, or disclosing another person's personal information without authorization;
- Posting obscene material, illegal information, or information that defames others;
- Other acts that violate applicable laws or public order and morals.
Article 9 (Copyright)
- The copyright of all Content posted on the Service belongs to the Company or the relevant copyright holder.
- Users may read Content provided through the Service only for personal, non-commercial purposes, and may not use it without authorization in any form, including reproduction, distribution, transmission, public performance, or derivative works.
- The copyright of content posted by a user within the Service (comments, inquiry content, etc.) belongs to that user. However, the user grants the Company permission to use such posts free of charge (including reproduction, modification, disclosure, and editing) within the scope of operating, promoting, and improving the Service.
Article 10 (Display of Advertisements)
- The Company may display advertisements on the Service screens, episode pages, etc., to secure funding for service operation, and users agree to the display of advertisements when using the Service.
- If a user participates in or transacts with a third party's advertisement displayed by the Company, or with a service provided by an advertiser, such transaction is conducted between the user and the advertiser, and the Company is not responsible for any dispute arising therefrom.
Article 11 (Restriction and Suspension of Service Use)
- If a user violates the obligations of these Terms or interferes with the normal operation of the Service, the Company may restrict the user's use of the Service in stages of warning, temporary suspension, and permanent suspension.
- The Company may temporarily suspend the provision of the Service in the event of force majeure such as natural disasters, system failures, or communication outages, and in such case will notify users as promptly as possible.
Article 12 (Disclaimer)
- The Company assumes no liability whatsoever in connection with the Service provided free of charge, unless there is a special provision in applicable laws.
- The Company is not responsible for any service disruption or damage caused by reasons attributable to the user (negligent management of account information, violation of the Terms, etc.).
- The Company is not responsible for the reliability or accuracy of information or materials posted by users on the Service.
- The Company is not responsible for any damage arising from third-party advertisements posted on the Service or from external sites connected via links.
Article 13 (Dispute Resolution and Governing Law)
- If a user raises a complaint regarding a dispute arising between the Company and the user, the Company will endeavor to handle it promptly through customer support.
- The interpretation of these Terms and matters not stipulated in these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea and relevant commercial practices.
- If a lawsuit is filed regarding a dispute arising from the use of the Service, the court having jurisdiction over the location of the Company's head office shall be the court of exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance.
Addendum
These Terms take effect on May 5, 2026.
